Beach Road Kielbasa – Available Here at Lorenz Food

by | Mar 6, 2015 | Deli Meat, Gluten Free, Health

Beach Road KielbasaYes, it’s available here at Lorenz Food – the world famous Beach Road kielbasa! Even Pope John Paul II praised it!! It’s a perfect solution for a tasty snack in your children’s lunch or as a midday snack at work. Slice it, fry it, barbeque it on the grill, eat it with a cracker or bun, combine with veggies and condiments – savour the smoky rich taste and share it with friends and family.

It all started in Hamilton in the late 1950s when Thadius (Ted) Kwiatkowski emigrated from Poland, got married and started a family while working part time at the Beach Road Market. It wasn’t long before he purchased the shop in 1967. The business thrived in Hamilton’s industrial community where it was supported by many of the local families. Some of the locals even remember Ted serving Pope John II the delicious kielbasa back in 1985. Beach Road kielbasa has since become “World Famous”!

Beach Road kielbasa is made with extra-lean pork and contains less than 10% fat. It’s gluten free and has no extra fillers! People have asked us about the nutritional and caloric values. Here they are:

Did you know that pork is now considered the “other white meat”? Ounce for ounce pork tenderloin has less fat than a chicken breast. The downside is that the fat is what makes pork taste so good. This explains why ham and bacon are far more popular than the leaner cuts. Cured pork like ham and bacon however, may contain nitrates or nitrites as preservatives which have been linked to cancer so eating them in moderation is key.

When pork is eaten in reasonable quantities (8oz) it can be quite good for you. A 3oz serving of pork tenderloin contains 0.105 oz of fat while the same portion of skinless chicken contains 0.106 gr of fat. Just remember to trim the fat!

Sold in many of the major store outlets throughout the GTA, this kielbasa is available here at Lorenz Food in a 5kg bulk bag or .500 gr vacuum pack pieces.
